India Virtual / Admin Assistant

After reading The 4 Hr Working week and a couple of other books in a similar vein I have decided that getting an Indian online virtual assistant to help me with admin etc may be an option worth exploring. Previously I have always dismissed the idea.....after getting frustrated with call centres......I thought no way....but am now having a rethink.

Would be interested to hear if anyone else has done this and whether they would recommend or not.

Unless you have a great deal of volume you probably wouldn't find a great amount of saving in using the Indian option.

Kaz, What tasks would you outsource?

An assistant is all-ways handy, an Indian one due to labour costs may be better. Their is a time difference their a good Four Hours Behind (aka at 9AM here its 5AM their).

Would this be on a permanent basis, so you get to know your assistant. Or is it just the luck of the draw when you have a task?

If you do it, please keep us updated.

RE: India Virtual / Admin Assistant

I am thinking of trying them out with some SEO work which I currently do myself , which takes quite a lot of time, and which I dont particularly enjoy. I currently pay for adwords so the plan is to cancel my adwords and use the money saved to spend on an assistant instead. If this works I have tons of bookkeeping and day to day record keeping etc which takes up a lot of time and which I am thinking culd be done by someone else to free p my own time. At the moment I am trying to do everything myself and doing nothing properly so this could be a good solution if it worked out.
I have thought of it a few times and dismissed the idea ...lbut keep coming back to it....whichwhy I wondered if anyone else had considered or tried it out.

Go for it and track the results.

It will work best if you have well defined tasks. Always easier to hand off work that is well defined. More so when you will have limited contact with the person.

You could always get the them to phone up the call centres on your behalf.... that would work...
