hi all
i am currently looking/thinking about BTL in the North mainly due to being able to get more properties for my money what would be the best way to research areas? i'm looking around the Barnsley area at present if anyone has any knowledge on the area it would be greatly appreciated if i did decide to buy i would be prepared to hold long term (guess i'd have to for capital growth!) thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
Welcome to Property Tribes. First of all, I recommend that you find the demand before you create the supply! If you don't have tenants lined up to rent your property, then there is no point in buying it.  My blog - RouteMap for the novice investor explains 7 simple steps to finding your first deal. You do tend to get a better yield on cheaper properties/areas, however two cheap properties will normally take a lot more of your time and effort then one expensive property, even when you are using an agent.
