Learn Change and Adapt ?????
I am having trouble finding a replacement tenant for my Readfing flat so have cut the rent being asked for.
I am buying via my company, but the same property as I was trying to buy 10 months ago. My plan was to take a break and spend some money on myself for a change, but the delay has messed things up a bit.
House prices seem to have just started going up. 3% is a lot for here and we passed 2007 levels last year. House prices are a very regional thing.
I think the issues you are having in Reading are common problems in many South East towns and due to a combination that prices just got too high and the extra properties that came on to the market prior to the introduction of the extra 3% stamp duty for second properties. I think the problem is going to continue due a reduction in demand and therefore rents will not be able to rise as much as many hope but this will be regional.
You are of course correct that house prices changes are regional but I am also believe in the ripple affect, that if the SE was to have a correction it would ripple out to other areas, as with all ripples, they are not as strong the further out they go but still have an impact.
D_L, this is from an earlier post of yours:
"And for the first time in my life I have thought about leaving the UK for good
its a horrible dirty broke country and its bankrupt I am very sorry to say"
I have to say I am somewhat offended by this. I believe your totally negative attitude, which pervades almost every thread in which you participate
Sorry do you think everything in the garden is lovely!?
DL's sentiments are shared by many in the UK.
If I could I'd emigrate to Oz or NZ.
Unfortunately I have no skills they require.
The UK is becoming overcrowded and over taxed.
It is broke and only keeps going with imported cheap Labour and consumer debt.
Consumer debt is too high and will at some stage become unaffordable.
The UK has changed beyond recognition
Many of us don't like living with these changes which cannot be undone.
So emigrating is the only way to avoid these changes.
We are if you will mostly all for Brexit but we are stuck here as Remainers!!
Quality of life has deteriorated over the past 40 years.
Remove the welfare system as it is and the allure of the UK would rapidly fade!
I have served in the UK Police and I have been a British Army Officer
I used to love my country and its values
I see nothing but filth and dirt in our country our standards have dropped through the floor
We were leaders and we ran a fair strong country
We are Bankrupt and living on debt
I am very negative about the UK at present
Its not getting better its getting worse
And I have the right to say what I feel because I have served my country in a number of life threating situations
I have lost friends and seen some maimed for this country
I see servicemen living on the streets
I was proud to wear the uniform of my country but I feel let down by the Govt we have and the country we have become
If I offend you I am sorry
But I will say this I am not alone and that is why the country is divided EU Vote proved my point
Rich & Poor
North & South
Black & White
Young vs Old
I could go on ???? its a shambles
But if you think its not I stand by your right to say so ?
