Boris the Bold has put paid to capital’s rabbit hutches

In Spain they had lots of discussions a couple of years ago when they decided to allow the minimum sized studio flat for 30 sq.m (at least that´s what I remember it being). It was driven by demand from people wanting to live independently, but not being able to afford the one bed flats - particularly so in Barcelona and Madrid.
There are so many clever ways to make small spaces work - just need to look at boats and caravans.
It is interesting that housing associations have space standards. Are we in a position where only social housing tenants are living in homes that people find truly adequate?
Personally I like as much space as possible. I think there is a simple solution to the overcrowding in London - come and live in Manchester!
