• Kensington pin - Property Networking Meeting

At the February Kensington pin meeting we have two great speakers. David Sandeman talking about buying at auction and Linda Wright talking about planning. The meeting if from 7 - 9pm on Wednesday 13th February (networking from 6pm). We also have an optional deal clinic after the main meeting with the 'Deal Doctor', Trushant Bodani. David Sandeman - How to buy at auction, and why now is a good time to do so This month at the pin event we will be focusing on how to buy at auction, and why now is a good time to do so. This is a great strategy to find some bargain priced property but you have to know what you are doing. Many amateurs end up paying too much at auctions or even worse buying property that is in an auction because no one else wants it. At this pin evening seminar you will learn how to avoid the classic mistakes which will save you a fortune when buying at auction. David’s fast moving and entertaining presentation will cover the following: • Size and scope of the market • How to source the properties • What to look out for • Due diligence required • How to spot a bargain • Buying prior to auction • Bidding in the room • Unsold and withdrawn lots • Do’s and don’ts • Examples of auction deals that have gone wrong! • Examples of deals that have made a lot of money • Questions Linda Wright - Planning: Profits & Pitfalls Linda Wright is a Chartered Town Planner and owner of PLANiTWRiGHT – an independent planning consultancy and development service. She has enjoyed a successful 30+ year career in the planning sector – as a Council planning officer in the North-West and South UK, private consultant and expert policy advisor to major house builders for the Home Builders Federation. The USP on her CV is that she also worked for several years for the Government of Bermuda. Her insight into the planning system is invaluable. Expect to hear about the following on the evening: • How to make getting planning permission easier • Some real life examples • How to maximise the value of your land/buildings • More little known planning secrets! If you haven't attended a pin meeting before use the code 'property tribes' to get a free ticket. Nearest tube is South Kensington. There is parking on adjacent roads. Regards, Fraser
