  • LettingFocus Biannual Seminar and Networking Event

Richard Bowser of Property Investor News will speak on Joint Ventures (JVs) –  The How and Why of JVs and why a professional approach is required. Richard is a vastly experienced investor and also the editor of highly respected Property Investor News (PIN) magazine which has ran for over 20 years now. Meeting investors he knows a lot about why some JVs works and why others fail. What he does not know about property is not worth knowing. We are delighted to have this highly knowledgeable man along to speak again.

Stephen Hemmings of Menzies, the tax accountants will be giving a talk looking at the issues landlords now face with tax – and how they can best deal with the new tax environment. Things to do and things to avoid. This, I know, will be a fascinating and useful talk.

We welcome James Davis from on line letting agents, UPAD. He will be looking at how landlords can utilise technology to help them find tenants and manage tenancies. James Davis is CEO of the UK’s largest online letting agency, which he set up and founded. A true expert in his field.

From the National Landlords Association, we have Matthew Oliver to update on the all the things that have happened since our last event, including all the key new regulations that landlords should be aware of. So much is happening, it can be hard to keep up! Let Matthew help you.

It will be a very busy and information-filled evening.

Tell People What You Offer or What Help You Want

At the events we always run a new special session, where any attendee can stand up for up to 40 seconds and tell attendees who they are, what they offer or what they are looking for – this might be to find property in a certain area, a sourcing service, insurance services – it does not matter.

These are small events and very informal. The accent is on networking and learning about buying and letting residential property and the business of buy to let plus the practicalities of being a successful landlord from leading experts.

    SHORT BREAKS

There are short breaks between speakers which gives attendees a great opportunity to ask me and also our speakers questions and to learn from and share knowledge with other attendees.

The events are designed to suit new and very experienced landlords alike as well as those thinking of getting into the business of being a landlord for the first time too.

As usual with our seminars, you’ll get factual and useful information – there will be no exhortations to achieve “financial freedom” in just a year or two and no one will be “going on a journey”.

The new venue is Shipwright Arms, 88 Tooley Street, London SE1 2TF
