    Calling leaseholders on Candia Towers!

I almost bought a flat in Candia Towers and yes it is too good to be true.
    1. 2 bed flats are advertised as contemporary flats with rental value of £525 pm, £100 SC including porterage. They were offered to the open market and some by moder method of auction from 27K-45K.
    2. Experience: Some heavily stoned man is hovering towards the agent, they make some exchange and get towards the main entrance. Garbage premisses were open and stinking.
    3. Inspection of the flat : very likely a recent crime scene with the door broken by police.
    4. Agent charging 100 for building maintenance. For what? Marihuana nursery? With very little effort these properties can be turned into magnificent flats. I personaly refused to deal with the agent who served me a blatant lie: that porters were nto advertise dand that he never mentioned that. Really clumsy one.
    5. For 45K one can buy an off plan studio at Fox Street development bringing 10% net yield and can sleep tight.
6 I am open to renting to DSS tenants provided at least one member of the family is in full employment and families no larger then 4.
Candia could be a fantastic development but at the moment- I am staying away from it.

    Hello All

I was wondering whether anyone had more information about these flats?

A 3 bedroom flat for around an average of 50k is good value for money. I am well aware about the 10m drug bust in the flats, but that doesnt bother me too much as its epidemic throughout the city in both flats and houses even in the most desirable or areas. I would be delighted if the reason for the low cost was due to the drug bust and the perception of the Everton/Kirkdale area.

Are there 1 or 2 lifts in each block? and more importantly what sort of condition are they in? I have lived in another high rise that had lifts breaking on a weekly basis including a 3 week period without any working lift. Bad lifts have to be the biggest issue in such propertys.

One other factor I was wondering about is the sound proofing. The square blocks seen around Sefton Park and off the bottom Scotland road have brillant sound proofing due to the thickness of the concrete are these flats also well sound proofed?

Any information would be much appreciated.

    Hello Redman,

I can give you some basic background on the flats, to help you make a decision. Several of our clients have flats in these blocks within their property portfolio. You're wise to look into the condition of the buildings, and how they're managed. You can either send me a private message within Property Tribes, or email me.

    All the best

Hi Helen can you please give me some advice? Why so many people want to sell a flat in candia towers and why so desperately i can see them reducing the price on monthly basis unable to sell. The price is tempting but there must be something very wrong. Please contact me

    Dear Helen

I've only just discovered this thread. Do you still have an interest in Candia & Crete in Liverpool. As an existing tenant I would love to share my thoughts and experience with any leaseholders who are interested in fulfilling the full potential of these two blocks. I can't message you privately because I'm still on probation on this site. If you are interested please contact me. Thank you.
