  • Deposit Protection

    Failed to protect tenant's deposit

    Hi,

Did you supply your tenant with an AST contract?

On the AST, you would have filled in where the tenants deposit is held. Addition to this, when you protected your tenants deposit, your chosen scheme would of asked for your tenants contact details ie: Phone and Email addresses. After a few days or less the deposit scheme will then of contacted yourself and the tenant(s) to confirm the deposit is now protected.

As an aside, I think the risk posed by all this red tape and admin around traditional cash deposits is one of the most compelling reasons to use a deposit replacement scheme instead:

Deposit replacement is here - Zero Deposit

As there is no cash deposit, Zero Deposit does not fall under the legislation.
