How to challenge a TPO in the High Court?

Has anyone any experience in challenging confirmation of a TPO (tree preservation order)?  The planning authority have said the only way to challenge it is by applying to the High Court.  There is a short deadline (6 weeks) allowed to do this.  Just wondering what's involved in doing this, costs, do I need representation or could I do it myself?

High court is to challenge the validity of an order on a point of law

appealing normally goes from local authority to planning inspectorate
