How much should I pay for a new boiler?

buying a new boiler needs some research. Have a look at Which site.

Boilers depend upon your requirements ie flat/ house , size etc. You can pay anything from £500 to £5000+.

Best buys and very reliable are Vailant very expensive are Worcester.

Don't rush into it as its a expensive item and make sure you get one that fits your requirements and not just easy for the fitter. If fitted into existing space with little pipe work should cost around £200.

Are you sure you need a new boiler as you can find many spares parts very cheap these days. Usually they say 10-15yrs is the life of a boiler.

Totally agree with you!  I start to do the search by google.

Depends if its a straight swap or if you are changing from an old boiler with an immersion cylinder to a combination boiler.

Can you provide more detail of what you have at the moment and what is being suggested - type of boiler, make and output

Indeed, I don't have the details.  I will contact my agent again.

In her emails, she just provide the lump sum.  And I need to ask her about the details every time.

I read the email from my agent again.  It says:

The quote we received from the gas engineer is £2300 supplied and fitted with 4 radiators and new gas mains.

However he’s informed us that the hot water runs of electric so a new boiler isn’t needed however for the long term, it is a better solution and would last 10 years.

We’ve called an electrician who can provide us with electric heaters instead and 3 heaters will cost £500 to be supplied and fitted.

What is current EPC rating for the property out of interest?

Nothing wrong with that price as it's not just for a boiler. It's a central heating system including a gas supply. I'd be tempted to consider going further and using the boiler to heat the water as well. The incremental cost shouldn't be particularly high and all disruption is dealt with in one go.

Thank you for your explanation.  I believe you are right.
