    National Insurance contribution - landlord

I suspect it was my query being a rarer one that causef the problem - as I am both employed (company director) and self-employed.

    Hi all,

I am a landlord (have letting agents as I do not live near the properties, they find tenants, collect rent and manage properties, even though I do get involved on the management and running of them quite closely). Regardless of whether i run a business or not, I would like to pay voluntary class 2 national insurance contributions, as I have not paid enough years to get the full pension.

I have spoken to my accountant (and other accountants) and they are not sure whether I can just pay voluntary class 2 NIC and what is the process. I have called HMRC NIC section several times and I get a different answer every time. I was told to speak to a NIC expert to ensure I get it right.

Does anyone knows any NIC expert who can help.

    Thanks.  Margarita
