Wonderful to hear your story and what you have done so far! IT’s great to see you’ve already started with your journey, and that you’ve learned so much from it already. I’d agree with Vanessa there is no “win or lose”.
Are you looking forward to finishing the refurb on your south shields flat and rent it out? And what sort of plans do you have for the future?
I’m looking forward to watching your property journey continue.
Yes I cant wait for this property to be finished, it has taken a little longer then i first thought maybe 1-2 month more but could not be helped issues along the way again learning curve and also personal family stuff that could not be helped.
I live in london which is a really problematic thing for me with the distance, but iam lucky my father is my PM so noone i trust more so that has been great. Helping me with tradesmen doing work and stuff but again been a rather big learning curve for him as well.
Very difficult to work with family as well yes hes my dad and wants what is best for me and sometimes that was not what i asked to be done, which did cause some friction but nothing to bad. things getting done in wrong order becasue dad knows best .
Would not change it for the world tho.
I think on next one we could easy knock off 1 or 2 months if it goes smooth.
Plans for the future been looking and researching my next buy since the day I got the keys for this one, I am constantly looking for the next one. watching videos and pod casts reading as much as i can on here. trying to make this venture and the next as smooth as i possible can do.
Look foward to sharing my progress with you guys. not sure if its allowed but I am going up north this weekend to finish off the last little bits. so i will take some photos and show you guys before and after pics if you want.
Great to hear that you still learned something even if it didn’t go as planned!
Working with family always has its ups and downs, but its good that you’re still getting on with your father and working together.
Great news about your future plans, and wonderful that you want to continue learning and investing.
Definitely looking forward to some before and after pictures!
Ive got houses and flats in north east and must admit I regret the flats, leashold forst issue and find that tenants only sty a year or 2 till they meet someone have a baby etc. Would suggest like others to look at houses and the refurbs no different still bathroom kitchen just a hall stairs and landing or extra bed so not massive difference. Goo dluck with flat hope you get a great tenant and refurb finished
I dont agree with Fergus Wilson on much but he is so right Houses are homes
Flats in general are a steeping stone to a home
so supply homes ?
