Rent guarantee insurance (RGI) - worth it?

They mentioned a while ago that there were going to offer zero excess, has this happened yet?

Have you had to make any claims. The challenge I find it loads of people have purchased this but I don't get to see case studies of people's attempt when making a claim.

Is this giving you a false sense of security? The insurance is only good if people are able to claim it

No not yet! But my tenants all passed the credit/referencing criteria to make them eligible for RGI. So no reason why they shouldn't in the event I need to. My only concern is now with the tenant fee ban I have to pay for it. Its £140 per house. Although I think 'Alan Bosworth' may be cheaper option but dont pay out on first month?

Someone who either has equity in their house - (a mortgage) or they own their house outright - no mortgage. Thats my understanding.

    Hello,

I'm just in the middle of purchasing my first BTL in Liverpool and am keen to get some recommendations for the best landlord insurance.

Please can you tell me who you're insured with and what level of cover you have?

    Thanks so muchSmile

Alan Boswell Group is the insurance partner of Property Tribes and offer this product. The award-winning team can be contacted on 01603 649736 .

I have ABG insurance on all our properties.  It's circa £90.00 per annum and, as others have said, is a "no-brainer".

However I may revise my outlook and look @ Alan Boswell RGI as they appear much cheaper.
