    Repairs and S24 - saving 40% tax

    I don’t think I was ever a bad landlord

    s24 changes the dynamics of being a landlord and where before I used to do repairs I now do more than ever before

    I use a company to do all the repairs and the company charges a management fee so I am takeing highly tax profit and useing via my company

    my wife has an income from the company I get a pension it’s far more tax efficacy than before

    this is why I use the strategy

    hope you understand why i go looking for repairs now

    Its more about the long term repairs / replacements for me

    Kitchens / windows / bathrooms / electrics / roofs  / floor coverings etc

    The lifespan of these big ticket items can span over  5/10/15 / 20 years

    Reasons for upgrades  could be in the past done for  releasing equity / selling / tired / better rental return 

    And now sec 24 is added to this list
