    The dawn of 2019

    You would not believe me how much time I commit to my bussinss it’s a full time job. I would guess 50 hours a week

    I self manage and oversee all repairs and. Building projects

    I did a quick calculation of the death of my tenant I have spent over 40 hours on that topic alone arrangeing a funaral ect ect

    BTL is my job and it takes a lot of time my bussinss is bigger than most I am not an armchair landlord

    If you're spending 50 hours per week on Buy to Let, then I'm afraid your investment strategy has failed.

    I. Don’t get that I really enjoy doing what I do

    if I did not enjoy doing the deal and managing a large business I would sell up

    its my life and it gets me out of bed in the morning

    Yes seems to be a lot of time but it probably includes time spent on this Forum !

    Unfortunately I think DL has summed up my own gloomy expectations  for the new year.

    For those of us with cash on deposit how do we protect ourselves from the next round of bank failures.

    I do not trust the £85000 savings protected per banking licence and neither do I trust the claim made by NS & I that any amount deposited is safe because its government owned.

    Cash is only king if the if the government don't steal it off you ( as happened  in Cyprus just a few years ago )

    Gold seems the safest place to put any surplus cash at the moment, in my opinion anyway.

    Zero return but a good hedge against a stock market/property/bond crash.
