Resi mortgages
Hi one for the Brokers,
Pal of mine own his own resi, approx 50% LTV, wants to remortgage, but took voluntary redundancy a couple of months back from his job of 7 years. He walked straight into a new job on similar wage to before, but has only been there one month and is on probationary period, will lenders have a problem with this? He has c. 20k savings, the mortgage is only for about 50/60k. |

RE: Resi mortgages
Not a broker - but I would imagine your frend would find it easier at this stage to seek permission to let on the Resi mortgage. Presumably less hoops to jump through.

RE: Resi mortgages
Thanks for reply Dave, in this case he's looking to carry on living in it, not let, personally I think he should wait until probationary period over then do as normal, but would like to hear from a broker.

RE: Resi mortgages
The one month in the job shouldn't be a problem for a couple of lenders (though most want 6 months or more) but most don't like probationary periods. If its 3-6 months in all honesty he's better off waiting as he'll get a much broader choice then anyhow.
