Property Crash! - Ouch

This house crashed from 150K to just 3.5K a week after purchase.

Was the buyer plain unlucky or plain foolish. You have to have some sympathy!

Surveyor liability...?

Insurable risk?

Is that Aslan I can see in the cliff face?

RE: Property Crash! - Ouch

Stupid buyer.

She bought without viewing. The reason it was so cheap in the first place was the risk of collapse. It was unfortunate that it was so sudden, but she should have viewed in advance.

And she would not have got standard insurance - specialist insurance would either not be provided, or extremely expensive.

RE: Property Crash! - Ouch

A long time ago one of my relatives brought a cliff top holiday home for cash, it only cost the same as 2 or 3 years holidays, but gave them many years of use before it crashed.

For the right property it may give a good return on holiday rentals as well.

It is reported today that the house has now fallen into the sea.

RE: Property Crash! - Ouch

I wonder how much the owners of the house in the back ground are paying for their insurance. Do you think the premiums in that post code are calculated on a sliding scale? :-0
