Build to Rent giant targets Brighton

Everybody wants to live in cheap/well priced accommodation though Philip and students are no different, or at least a % of them want to anyway. Not everyone wants to or can afford to live in the currently shiny PBSAs.

I agree, however for too long universities have relied on too much existing housing stock for their students, the massive increases in student numbers has meant that ever more housing has gone to them. Getting students in PBSA will release housing back into the domestic market, legislation will eventually be used to effect the change. 10 years from now i’d be surprised if the student let btl sector is 25% of what it is today.

It all looks good on paper and is great headlines for the government but most of us live in the real world . Homes are needed for everyone and its the lower paid who need the proper help now. Give them stable housing at affordable rents and this will improve over the longer term the economic development of the country. Their children with a stable environment ( home) can study and showly better themselves perhaps going to higher education and filing those teacher, doctor engineering jobs the country needs for the future. You can't increase economic development of a country without stability other wise social fabric of society breaks down.
