    feedback on account switchover

Thanks Nick, my posts are showing up now - both of them on V's thread! Can I delete the second one or do I have to ask you to do it for me?

However, I still can't reply to the other thread I linked to, about water bills.

This is the only thread that I've successfully posted on so far on the new forum!

Signature update doesn't seem to be working either.
Don't want to sound like a moaning Minnie but here are a couple more bugs:
    1. I deleted the quotes in the reply box and what came up in the thread was everything that was in the quotes I'd deleted, then a horizontal line, then my reply below it.
    2. Signature update function not working (and edit box is too tall and obscures some of the text below).

    N&V,
I found the move across very easy.
You have done a great job, totally different layout but looks great.
Will spend some time over the weekend getting more familiar with it.Wink

I saw a name I was not sure I recognized. I went to the person's profile to see if they were already a buddy. There is a box with the images of everyone who is a buddy. I am not there. No problem. I figure I could send a request. A little further below I see the option to remove them as a buddy.

This left me wonder if it is possible to add someone as a buddy without them adding me. If that is true, then it would be possible to have a relationship in one direction and the options I saw would make sense.

Or it could be I just do not understand what the system is telling me.

    Any comments?
I just tried to post a reply to a thread Mark started (best mortgage). When I hit the button to post, it said replies were being moderated. I did not receive that message earlier when I posted to this thread and others. Not sure what I should think. Is there a moderation option per thread and the person starting the thread can elect to moderate replies?

When I am on the main page you have the rectangular box that has tabs for scrolling horizontally. One has the list of recent forum posts. Using a Mac I am used to 'pushing the text / page' up rather than using a scroller to 'pull down'. All is well except when the focus is inside the box. Using multi-touch to push up the text does not work. Nothing happens. I can push the full page, just not the text inside the frame.

New member is taken by those that have posted over 5 posts - how about 'latest member' ?

Well I notice some say "New Member", so maybe stick with that?

    Nick,

You could use "recently arrived". Or "just started", "just signed up", etc.

New member is used a lot by many forums as anyone who has recently signed up would be a new member to the group. I do not really see it as much of a problem.

Maybe make it "New member" or "Just joined" for the first 5-10 posts and then upgrade to just "Member" or (possibly a bit later) "Established member"

    Hi all

After playing around with the site, this does seem a big improvement from the current platform with the advanced functionality and user experience. However, I can't say the same for the design.

I find the overall layout of the site very crowded, not easy on the eye. The home page is ok, however reading through posts is a bit more challenging. There is a lot going on for each post. If I could change the way posts are displayed, I would possibly reduce the width of each post, and maybe move all the personal info of each poster to the left of this, or even have a header for each post in different colour just to break up the written content from the rest of the white space, resulting in an easier reading experience. I would also have responses and replies more evident.

I think for a site which is primarily a forum, there should be more emphasis on how the written content is displayed.

This is an excellent site, I just feel the design does not reflect that.

Does anyone else feel the same?
