An extensive interview with Fergus Wilson, often called "Britain's most controversial landlord".Fergus takes part in many TV interviews and documentaries but claims that his content is often manipulated to make him/landlords look bad.He particularly references his appearance on BBC "Panorama":BBC "Panorama" - Fergus Wilson - synopsisTherefore, he was pleased to take part in an unedited interview to share his many views on property and the private rented sector:

That Guy could have done so much good for the Private Rented Sector
But he has not
If I had the weath he has Just think of the amount of good he could have done
If he had played his cards right he could have got great respect and most likely an MBE for his work
I dont fully understand why some one thrives on being controversial and disliked even by Landlords

Not watched the video yet but...
I don't disagree with his conclusions - LHA tenants are a risk, smelly houses don't rent, you want stable tenancies not dysfunctional families and so forth. It's his actions and even more so briefing them to the press, in such a way to paint himself as a villain.Evicting every tenant just because they are on LHA is not a solution, banning specific cultures even though we all have smelly foods is not a solution and banning single mothers cuts his market down & married parents can have same issues.
You ask "Who else do you think should be asked to be a TV commentator to represent landlords in a more positive light?" well that wont work. The press does not want to represent landlords in a "positive light" it is not entertaining TV. The negatives will always get more attention than the positives.
