A visit to the Residential Landlords Association

Earlier this week, I visited the Residential Landlords Association* Headquarters in Sale, near Manchester to find out more about how the RLA support landlords and campaign to ensure that landlords' voices and opinions are heard at a political level:

As mentioned in the video, January has been a record month for the RLA, with 500 new members joining to swell the existing 22,000 membership. Hopefully this is a sign that landlords are waking up to the issues and challenges facing the PRS and realise that they must stand up and present a united front.

You can join the RLA and discover more about them by visiting the RLA website.

*RLA is commercial partner of Property Tribes and power our "search" function.

If one change in landlord behaviour id love to see, is that every landlord would volunterily join the RLA.

Forget the services (the advice line and documents are great mind!) they in my opinion are the one and true voice of Landlords.

Its not a Tenant organisation, its not a agent organisation its true strength is in speaking up for Landlords. Nine times out of Ten, they get it bang on.

One example that grinds my gears is the fallacy that "landlords are not regulated" and with one RLA Link showing over 100 acts and 400 individual requirements. It is disproven.

Which leads us to for less than £60 a year, you are on top of the ever-changing landlord regulatory requirements.

With such a glowing testimonial, i should outline my financial links to the RLA. Is merely that £60 expenditure, that im certainly comited too.

It was great to see your 'behind the scenes of rla' video.

Thanks for the kind feedback Adam.

What surprised me was that there was such a "buzz" at the office, which the filming did not really capture.

I got a real feeling that the RLA staff are passionate about what they do and very committed to improving the PRS. As an RLA member myself, it was an eye-opening visit that I really enjoyed.
