Are RTB prices listed on Land Registry?

Just wondering if Right-to-Buy prices are listed on the land registry, and if they're not, what the reasoning behind it is?

Also, do councils have easily found figures of how many tenants exercised their RTB each year and what the replacement figures of properties provided are?

Would be very interesting to read.

    Hi Adam,

You could probably get that information by submitting a Freedom of Information request (FOI) to your local authority.

Hi Vanessa. For RTB prices paid, and/or the figure of properties sold vs. properties built?

    Thanks.

LR shows all prices paid since Jan 1995 though  1 million RTB sales were in 1980s decade

From memory total RTB sales across UK are 1.8 million - from the peak 6 million Council homes at 1981.

Some 350,000 social homes were built post 1981.

Max discount initially was 60% on houses and 70% on flats - both capped at £35k max

To get RTB price on an individual property - ascertain it's value on open market as a private similar home - reduce by 20% for stigma of Council Estate - then apply RTB discount

If you search online you will find precise numbers sold each year - currently around 12000 pa.
