Boycotting Shelter is a bad move

We understand some organisations want to stir the pot to get their name out as a newcomer.

However an attempt to bash Shelter is a bad move in our opinion.

Our Parent company are an adversary of Shelter and weekly are confronted with an advocate in court from Shelter to the bemusement of our clients.

As an organisation we see the good work that Shelter do every day. Without them many would be homeless and in some cases landlords would get away with unlawful eviction. We need to remember in many cases Shelter are the last hope for a person who is a tenant or homeless. We disagree with some of the legislation Shelter has championed in the last four years or so which we say they have been instrumental in helping it to be enacted.

We as landlords are already been demonised and Boycotting Shelter is unhelpful on a number of levels. We The British Landlords Association strongly oppose the boycott against Shelter.

I take it you are referring to the latest post on Property 118?

    BOYCOTT SHELTER

It's not clear whether it is a continuation of the Landlord Alliance campaign against Shelter supporters, or a separate campaign that P118 is providing another platform for.

Either way, it's very ill-advised and shows extremely poor judgment.

My posts are not financial advice, just a rambling guy passing time on a coffee break.
The team at Bespoke Finance offers advice, including Limited Company Buy-to-Let , HMO Conversion and Cheap Life Insurance.

The subject matter here is Shelter. It is sad that you find it fitting to attack to The BLA.

I can see the comment regarding the BLA only being set up 1 month has been deleted!

These comments are incorrect and utter rubbish. When the company was set up is a matter that is in the public domain. To make comments knowingly to be wholly incorrect is simply wrong.

If you have nothing to add to the debate about what this thread (Shelter) then may i please kindly ask you to refrain from deviating from the subject matter which is Shelter.

The only truth in some of the comments made by you  (even these have been deleted - wise!!!!) and "theartfullodger" is where remarks indirectly are made that landlords association have monthly magazines. Here you are correct the BLA does not publish a monthly magazine. Instead it publishes a online news paper daily!

Silly childish comments have also been made to suggest that the BLA does not have offices some how its run from a house (Again this has been deleted - Wise !!!) The BLA offices are situated in a beautiful grade 2 listed building. Further BLA Wales and BLA Scotland websites go live in March 2019 and these will have offices in Wales and Scotland. They will operate from buildings i own in these cities.

There is no point responding to either of you until you apologise for incorrect inappropriate comments.

We do not know where you got the information to which you wrongly state the company was set up last month??????

Please let me know what parent company of ours you wrongly state to be "no legal parent company". We await your response.

Isn't it a boycott of B&Q (and only whilst they continue their support for Shelter) rather than a boycott of Shelter??

Er,  not sure how landlords can 'Boycott Shelter'  as very unlikely there'd be any supporting them to Boycott them ?

Your reply seems a bit strange considering that you have commented on the thread on P118 of the title "Boycott Shelter" so you must be aware of the content.

Perhaps go and ask what the original poster on P118 means by "Boycott Shelter", as I am certainly in the dark.

I take any reference to Boycotting Shelter, - to mean its sponsors, ( as I said, Landlords don't support or patronise Shelter, so how could they Boycott it  ? )
