    BTL via LTD or not

    Hi all

I have a BTL already and wanted to purchase another and possibly a third final property for investment purposes. What do I need to consider in relation to buying as myself or via a LTD company.

Also, do you have any recommendations for financial advisors in Greater Manchester?

    Many thanks in advance.

This thread will help you decide:

The BIG tax issue: Should I incorporate?

You should seek professional tax advice, but, generally speaking, if you are a lower rate tax payer, you would be better off buying further properties in your own name.

For financial advice, the team at Property Tribes Financial Services are on hand to support the PT community.  They work over email and the phone and there is no need to meet in person, although I am sure they would be willing to do this if it was important to you.  You can contact Howard and the team on 01206 654444.

    Hope that helps for starters?

I don’t think it’s as simple as Vanessa describes. Property has high transaction costs and so you need to consider your future plans as well before you can just decide what structure is right for you.

Vanessa is right that if you will always be a basic rate tax payer then the costs of running a company is unlikely to make it economic, assuming you need to live on all the profits.

As to meeting a financial advisor, much can be done remotely these days like the other professional services.
