    Conveyancing

I'm about to buy my first BTL and need to get someone to do my conveyancing.

What is the best way to go about this?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

You just need to instruct a solicitor.

Our partner solicitor is Anthony Gold and they have a busy property conveyancing department. If you give them a call on 0207 940 4060 and ask to speak to Andrew Brookes, he will be able to assist you.

You will most likely need to put them "in funds", usually around £600.00, to start the process so that they have some money for undertaking searches etc.

You will also need to go through ID and anti-money laundering protocols.

    Hope that answers your question?

    Hi Vanessa
Will they also be happy to take over from another conveyancer? As you see at my other post, my conveyancer is very slow and this is essentially obstructing the progress of my btl purchase....

With any solicitor you need to ensure that they are on the lenders panel if you are using finance. Also some lenders insist you use their solicitors to get the better rated products

If you are cash then your choice. If a lender I would decide which one you are going with first as it will save you time and possibly money.

    I don't see why not.

The easiest thing to do is give them a call and ask them! Smile
