    Declaration of trust

Me and my wife agreed on a JV where I would facilitate the purchase by obtaining the mortgage and she come up with all the money (she does not work but has savings from her family). I instructed my solicitor to draw up a Declaration of Trust for me and my wife to  1 % and 99%. My solicitor interestingly enquired why don't we just have a 0% and 100% split.

Has anyone come across this 0% and 100%? Is it even legal, obviously it is as my solicitor / conveyancer suggested that.
