  • Wanted & Recommendations

    Energy compaines

Hi, Can anyone recommend an electricity supplier that actually speaks to you when you phone them ? I'm fed up to the back teeth of British Gas, When I have a move out I get hit with standing charges !

Also is there any companies that give you an incentive to use them for your let properties ?

    Thanks in anticipation.

Contact octopus energy.Rates are much cheaper and they have incentives too .

We use EON as we can get through relatively quickly and easily and they have a Landlord Team which seem quite helpful - each to their own though - maybe just been lucky

WHATEVER you do - NO NOT USE SPARK ENERGY - they are absolutely atrocious - we inherited them in a recent property and to use the word painful would be an understatement.

I bit the bullet a long time ago. Power card meters are my solution. Never looked back.

In my experience, it's very nearly ALL large organisations who are useless in this regard, i.e. they don't want you to contact them. Some don't even have a telephone number, but refer you to an online chat site which more often than not doesn't exist or is not up and running. I've wasted many hours phoning back at various times, eventually giving up when hearing a) tons of unnecessary pre-recorded  irrelevant messages and b) "we're sorry; all our operators are busy.." year in and year out. Well get some more blooming staff then you idiots, 'cause you obviously ain't got enough.

It's not confined to utility companies, but any large organisation. Once an organisation exceed a certain size (critical mass), it becomes hopelessly inefficient because the left hand doesn't even know the right hand exists!

I don't waste my time (= my life) any more, and usually take the view you need me more than I need you, so you can wait for your money. It's usually the case that local authorities and utilities want my money for wildly inflated bills based on erroneous information or estimated figures.

I cannot comment on other smaller companies I've never heard of.

Look at Utility Warehouse - top Which rated provider over for a number of services to include gas, electric, mobiles, broadband and landline.  You will always talk to a person or you can talk to a distributor of which I am one - use my Partner No B47289 if you are interested in signing up. See which report and rating - https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/energy-c...-warehouse.  Not necessarily the cheapest on energy but very transparent and honest.

What was it Mandy Rice-Davis said?  Well he would say that, wouldn't he?

Nah, seen them pitch to landlords:  Not a company I would be prepared to do business with.

I dont see any point in looking for energy suppliers for tenanted properties.

The tenants change suppliers to the one they feel most suitable for their needs .

I Switched to Octopus a year ago after extensive research .

no problems, great contact, I will probably stay with them at least another year as their rates are good too.

I looked at utility warehouse and if I wanted gas, telephone And broadband I would have used them.

    but I don’t so I didn’t.
