EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Cherie Blair MBE QC

Today, in London, over 600 landlords and industry stake-holders are gathered at THE most important landlord event of 2016, the Tenant Tax Summit.

Property Tribes is delighted to bring you an exclusive interview with Cherie Blair, MBE QC on the Judicial Review landlords are raising against Section 24.

We have been live-blogging the event >>> here.

This is not a time for complaceny or apathy.  ALL landlords and tenants will be affected by this tax and we urge you to stand up and unite with other landlords against this unfair regime.

If you have not already done so, please pledge your support:

I was always a fan of the Blairs, it's the only time I voted Labour.  Loving Cherie in this interview and if this evil tax gets overturned she'll be a heroine for life.

Watch out Gideon, Cherie is coming to get you. :-)

Cherie Blair is one of the top barristers in the U.K.  She is fighting the landlords' cause.

Why do you care what she is getting paid?  Have you contributed to the fund?!

I don't recall anyone asking Mark Alexander of Property 118 or Mark Smith of Cotswolds Barristers if they were making money from the West Bromwich legal case.

I find the question really perplexing on a day when differences and agendas have been set aside for the greater good of the landlord community.

If we don't pull together on this one, then we are going to be slammed.

As Kriss Akabusi has just stated on stage "Things fall apart when the centre doesn't hold".  In other words, if people do not share a dream, then a difference cannot be made.

Both Chris Cooper and Steve Bolton have worked tirelessly and committed significant personal resources to get this event to fly.  They are the true heroes of today.

The question you should be asking is:  What am I going to do to support the Judicial Review and help make a difference?

Funny Chris Akabusi is mentioned just after someone questioned how much Cherie Blair may have been paid.

Chris came in for some flak from people I knew and were from the same background -  namely,  British Army and Royal Signals (my own military background,  although I was (a tad slightly)  less athletic than Mr Akabusi).

The fact he made Warrant Officer 2 and had a brilliant athletics and media career obviously upset some people.  Haters gonna hate.

Cherie is a highly respected human rights barrister -  a great choice for the JR.

Was there any discussion on what would happen in the event of a Brexit and therefore the decoupling from the platform of EU laws that Ms Blair is working from?
