    Fire doors price

    Hi there,

How much do you count to replace a standard door by a fire door, all works and materials (door+frame etc) included?

    Thanks!

Magnet-Trade best prices for panel or paint grade FD30 doors, fire strips and thumb-turn locks.

Competent joiner should swing a door for £50 each.

    Hope this helps

You appear to have forgotten the cost of getting a new door lining fitted or the cost of finding someone who is prepared to sign off your current lining and its fitting as up to the standard required for a fire door.

You will also need new hinges and a closer.

    Depends on your spec.

Plain flat ugly door with contract handles and no decoration will be a lot cheaper than an oak veneer door with glazed panel and 4 coats of varnish.

DISCLAIMER just my personal opinion - for legal advice consult a qualified professional grown-up.

    Hi

Believe or not I think ionce got someone to do fivedoors for under £500! For labour only! If you can buy the fire door, closer, thumbturns if requires and the atrip then might work out cheaper

You forget that to be g'teed fire safe - fitting needs to be done by specialist contractor - hence total supply/fit cost is £300 plus per door

never heard of anyone giving a guarantee that its fire safe?!  as long as the chippie has a clue and his work is checked for compliance then no guarantees required.  probably should be done under building control application.

obviously that has nothing to do with 'guarantees' or 'specialist contractors'!?

A number of LLs will now be owners of ex-Council flats - where fire regs/inspections mandate new fire proof front doors where those individual front doors open directly in to communal hallways.

In those situations Council will mandate  a limited number of specialist contractors.

That will apply to some 400,000 PRS flats.
