    First Ltd co purchase - how to structure

    Hello,

    Looking to purchase my first property via a Ltd Co (SPV). I currently run a contracting Ltd Co.

    I know I can provide an inter-company loan to the SPV but does anyone know what the benefit of having a holding company above the contracting co and SPV is?

    Each Co has an activity, there are a  list of activities, denoted as SIC codes, on the Companies House web site.

    These are the SIC codes used to denote the type of activity UK Co carries out.

    I trust, the activities of "contracting Co" and property "Co" are different, and therefore have a different SIC code.

    In my experience some lenders do not like the group structure.

    Also, when you cease trading in the contracting co assets will be locked within the group unless you extract as dividend.
