Gavin Barwell is touring the U.K. from 20th Feb to 6th March. He wants to hear from a wide range of stakeholders - councillors, local authority planning and housing officers, large and small developers, housing associations, estate agents, lettings agents and others - about what they think about the White Paper and how we can work together to fix our broken housing market.RELATED: Government releases Housing "White Paper"Here are the dates and locations where you can meet Mr. Barwell:Property Tribes is urging all our members to go and see the Minster. This is a not-to-be missed opportunity to let him know your thoughts on Section 24 and how it is damaging the sector!Further details and how to book will be added to this thread as more details become available.Reminder: Our "Section 24 Survival Guide" produced in association with Bamboo Auctions is now available. The guide is a simple and easy to understand download, which is free for anyone to access. Wonder if any S24 LL would be able to persuade any of his soon to be evicted tenants to have a day out to meet Mr Barwell
I doubt he ever meets or hears from any tenants
Might have to pay the tenants a days subsistence!?
LL have been vociferous
Tenants affected are the silent masses in this whole S24 debacle
Who will fight for the S24 tenants!?
Certainly NOT Shelter or Crisis!
.Wonder if any Irish LL and tenants could be persuaded to come over and explain what happened on the ground in ROI when their S24 occurred and now being abolished!
looks like the London one is invite only
I think that it would send the wrong message if Landlords were to tell the Minister the that they think that the biggest problem in Housing was the amount of tax LL pay.But the Minister doesn't want to hear Landlord views, he lists the people he wants to hear from and Landlords aren't one of them.
I notice one of the other speakers is from Shelter - thats not good.
This must be a very low profile Minister as when i googled housing minister last week absolutely nothing about Gavin Barwell came up!
its incredible that they want to speak to all the very people who so called "broke" the housing market when we all know its the banks and the government who dun it.
for example our local housing association have increased their housing stock by next to nothing in the 10 years they have been in charge yet have found the cash to build a multi million pound headquarters that isnt even central to their "patch".
very good point above about the tenants coming out worst- i for one am looking to shift 6 single lets asap.
i am being bombarded by companies trying to mop up cheap houses.I think ultimately the government would love us to sell up and let the big corps run the private housing sector- BUT the tenants certainly wont.
