How to find garage which came with Property

I purchased a property at auction which comes with a standalone, detached garage.

The garage is one of approximately 30 garages which are arranged in rows..

None of my documentation specifies which garage is mine.. I wanted to know who would be the appropriate person to contact in order to identify my garage?

I have contacted the sellers solicitor but they are not coming back to me

Pay £3 for each land registry title and you can find out (hopefully!).

£100 all in and a bit of graft and you'll know - could be completed in a couple of hours tops.

Unfortunately the land registry only mentions the plot number and they provide a title plan which they say is indicative

If even some of the garages are numbered - you may be able to work out which one is yours - maybe ask your 2 adjacent neighbours which ones they have and yours should be in between...I assume you also have keys to the garage.

This may be the only option to be sure. I'd ask all of the neighbours in the block and hopefully it will be possible to narrow it down.

I tried using the keys for all of the garages and it never opened...

I planned on asking the neighbours, but my other half is worried that someone may take ours and leave us with the dud garages, with damaged doors and rotSmile

Is there someone, I can flag this up with? The last thing I want is for someone to say that you never mentioned this soon enough

Maybe have another go at opening garages with key - but this time spray locks with WD40 and leave a while to soak in and free mechanism - maybe even do that on 2 consecutive days and give key a good wiggle about in lock.

Are these garage doors all the double wooden variety?

Not wanting to be the voice of doom here, but are you 100% sure you actually have a garage?

Auctions + not telling the truth often go together unfortunately, and finding out after the event is too late.

I would still check LR and see if any of them have been assigned. If they haven't, then how does anyone else know what garage is rightfully theirs?

How did you locate it ?
