Britain's biggest landlord has been caught in Brexit turmoil as he attempts to sell 1,000 properties just as buyers are stalling and pulling out of deals en-mass over market fears.
Fergus Wilson had planned to offload his entire portfolio of around 900 houses to a pool of foreign investors, which include both wealthy individuals and institutions.
But the Telegraph can reveal that the property tycoon is still waiting for a large number of exchanges to complete, meaning some deals could potentially collapse amid the turbulence.

I think his strategy of selling up in big lots has failed.
He should have started selling up in two's and three's about 2 years ago!
With reduced migrant demand to occur those former rental properties should be bought by FTB

Another alternative would be to sell to HA or councils who are desperately short of social housing
Obviously a decent discount would have to be given, but both parties would do very well out of the sales.
There really isn't going to be reduced migrant demand, not sure why you keep saying it.

Well NOT yet as it will take 2 years to leave
So I reckon for the next 2 years or so there will be floods of EU migrants coming here desperate to get onto the UK welfare system
After that though when we have an Australian type migration system we will naturally have reduced immigration UNLESS there are job vacancies at 100000 a year for doctors; nurses, engineers, scientists, curry chefs etc, etc.
Somehow I doubt there are that many vacancies for these skills
But if there are then these skilled migrants will be admitted in whatever numbers they are to match the skilled job vacancies
Perhaps it is now time for the UK to look at the pathetic training and education system which leaves our population bereft of these skill sets.
Instead of turning out endless useless media studies and psychology graduates we need more with the skills I have mentioned.
Then we can stop sucking in the brightest and the best from around the world to work here
I'm sure the countries from which these skilled migrants may come are NOT happy about the situation at al!
They want their qualified labourforce to build up their own countries NOT the UK.
So I still believe that migration will EVENTUALLY reduce to controlled amounts
I'm sure this will mean less demand for HMO type property as skilled migrants with their families will want single let dwellings
The days of overcrowding cheap labour into properties is going.
Hot bedding will be a thing of the past.
We just have to suffer another 2 years of the nightmare EU and its stupid open borders!!
It would be great news if that cheap EU labour determines they are NOT wanted or needed by the UK and go elsewhere, anywhere but the UK!!
It doesn't make any sense to come here now as I believe you need to be working for 5 years before you have leave to remain.
Though I readily admit I haven't a clue what the system will be for EU migrants from now on!!
The Immigration Act is going through presently and I believe it states no UK entry unless you have a job to take
But again this is just a bit of conjecture as things are so much in the air currently

I'm afraid you really don't get it, we need immigration, no politician apart from the slimy farage want to stop it. He's now gone, things will carry on as normal or we really will have problems. The positives of brexit aren't immigration but control of our own country and laws.
I agree about education but that will take a generation as current teachers would need to go back to school...

That is skilled workers who earn sufficient so as not be reliant on any welfare to assist their income
This is the immigration we haven't had enough of!!
Let us hope the new migration system will start attracting the skilled migrants we need from around the world
