Just thought I would introduce myself, been doing property part time for 20 years and must admit I really like it. But the bills are paid by main job and always just increased portfolio rather than take money from it. Now in double figures and all been rented for last 12 month, so all is good currently, apart from the usual boiler problems etc. All properties are standard family lets, not yet tried hmo, nut must admit I am starting to look at it. Also done few refurbs and sell
Im in north east just incase anyone's local and wants to talk
Hope I can help some people and sure I will learn from others
Just thought should say hi

Going well took me a while though and with somewhere like this probably wouldn't have made all the mistakes I did, but helps you learn quicker on own haha. Want to make it full time in next few years as enjoy it so just see how it goes Thanks Vanessa
We also have a useful guide on how to do that. Guide: Giving up day job to become a landlord
Do tell then please, thinking of buying a property a year to refurb and rent and one to sell or more if can find them, but there's not much new coming on market and prices aren't as good as they used to be.Even auctions people just seem to be paying more for them, guess more people are buying to live in it so hard to compete at auctions these days.Just done some work for a recently retired couple, been watching homes under hammer, done up a 3 bed terrace its amazing best on street they've spent 145k in total with fees etc its been valued at 135k, 19k higher than any has sold on street, Lesson learned they said, granite bench tops was excessive haha
Thank you for the introduction always great to see other investor share a bit about themselves and offer help to others. Congratulations on your successful portfolio and wish you many more successful years ahead. Keep us updated on your HMO venture.
