    Introduction to Landlord Metering

The following is a sponsored post on behalf of Landlord Metering.

Landlord Metering are a company who offer a unique system which has saved landlords and property developers big time in converting buildings into flats or HMOs.  They are also doing a roaring trading in helping landlords and agents to rid themselves of coin and digi-card sub-meters.

They create an “embedded network” in properties where there is only a single MPAN thereby saving the need for additional connections to the electricity Distribution Network which cost about £2,000 each.  Although this might sound complex, it is really quite simple:

They supply the latest smart sub-meters for a below cost deposit which are fitted to each flat.  Tenants top-up these Pay As You Go smart meters using their credit or debit card via the internet or a freephone 0800 number.  From the new year, they will be able to top up by cash at their local newsagent.  The landlord is reimbursed for the electricity used each month directly into their nominated bank account.  They operate an out of hours help desk and assist with the electricity procurement to the building to obtain the most competitive tariff to keep costs low for tenants.

The System is fraud proof, more convenient for tenants, and virtually free for landlords.  Landlord Metering have partnered with Meterpay to deliver this service to landlords without hassle and for a lower cost.

The founder, Gary Wernick, is an experienced landlord and property developer as well as having been one of the key players in Electricity Deregulation in the UK and abroad.  The company is growing rapidly and despite only having traded for two years, it now looks after the electricity at over 200 sites.  These vary from a single flat above a shop, to a development of 248 flats at the former DWP offices.  They also have just finished extensive trialling of their multi-utility system at 100 flats and can now handle district heating, gas and water as well as electricity.

They currently have a special offer where landlords can pay a reduced deposit of £120 for orders of two or three meters, and £95 for orders of four or more meters (there’s no VAT as they are set up to be VAT efficient).  Customers are not locked into long-term contracts and can cancel at any time and be refunded their deposit on the meters.

So, if you are converting a building into flats / HMO or still have old sub-meters it may well be worthwhile checking them out on http://www.landlordmetering.com or  give their sales team a call on 01234 484 444.  But you would need to hurry as this offer expires at the end of the December 2018.

The video below is of Founder Gary Wernick explaining how he came up with the idea and how the system works.
