    Joint mortgage eligibility

    Hello everyone,

Just to give you some context I am fairly new to property I am 22 and have 1 buy to let with no mortgage on the property and I'm currently living with my parents, I am now looking to  acquire my second property using a buy to let mortgage ,I am looking to get the property with a partner on a joint mortgage, I was just wondering because I don't have a residential mortgage but my partner has, will that affect the eligibility or reduce the number of lenders I am open to, or will it be okay because 1 of us has a residential mortgage??

Any help or advice would be much appreciated,

    thank you,

    Jason.

Depends on which mortgage broker you go to, too.  For example, many estate agent mortgage salespeople are only allowed to provide mortgages from a restricted panel of lenders.  Some mortgage brokers only dabble in BTL and so won't know all of the specialist lenders available.  And then you can go to the other extreme, and there will be brokers - such as the team at https://www.PropertyTribesFinancialServices.com - who provide the widest range of options from the largest BTL mortgage marketplace.  And we are here for landlords, run by landlords.

Always call the PT FS mortgage brokers for options and advice.

You won’t have a problem getting a mortgage. You have a place of residence which can be prover as established so there is no risk of you moving into this property. You also have a good story to back it up.

There will of course be some lenders who won’t lend but the vast majority will. The availability of a BTL mortgage should not be of concern.

You should always use a good broker.
