Landlord Insurance Extras - which to get?

    Hi All

In the process of purchasing my first buy-to-let house, hopefully be completed in the next few weeks.

With regards landlord insurance, there are so many extras that can be added on and just wanted to know from experienced landlords which are the must have's. Being my first buy-to-let property i could easily add everything on for peace of mind but this can of course get expensive.

    • Malicious Damage - this seems included in most policies
    • Accidental Damage Cover
    • Home Emergency Cover
    • Legal Expenses
    • Rent Arrears

    Many thanks for any advice

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

    Congratulations on your first purchase!

That is a good starting list, but I would add landlords' liability insurance.  By rent arrears, I think you mean Rent Guarantee Insurance, and this costs around £100.00 per annum, so a complete no-brainer imho!

We have a video that discusses this issue:

    Mitigating business risk through insurance

The friendly and award-winning team at Alan Boswell Group will be happy to advise and quote for you.  They can be contacted on 01603 649736 .

    Hi

Do these quotes seem reasonable to anyone?

    Do they cover everything required?

    As landlords....which would you take?

    Thank you
