  • Leasehold Property

Legal requirements for amending a lease?

    Hi,

We live in a converted house consisting of 4 flats - 2 owned by the freeholder, 1 other leaseholder and us as leaseholders.

We need to have the lease amended to reflect changes to the original parking space layouts agreed among us, and include new drawings in the lease reflecting these layout changes.

Can anyone confirm what the legal requirements are to do this? How do we make this amendment legal and form part of the lease?

Can we just use a site like this and just all sign it, or do we need a lawyer involved?

    https://www.lawdepot.co.uk/contracts/lease-amendment/

    Thanks!

You will need a lawyer and a plan drawn to the specification required by the Land Rdgistry

    Hi Elliot,

You will need a lawyer to draft new Deeds of Variation reflecting the changes along with new Lease plans.  You will then need to get these documents registered at Land Registry.

Please contact me for further assistance: lam@anthonygold.co.uk
