    Lender versus Broker

    What`s the difference?

    I am asked this question on a regular basis. When it’s a straight choice between going straight to a lendr or via a Broker it makes sense to know what the differences are.

    Lets take a look at each in turn.

    Lender Dirct

    • Will the persn you speak to b qualified to giv advice? Will you hav to navgate through a call centr?
    • Whoever you speak to they wll work for th lnder. Targetted, incentivised, their “duty” is more to the lendr than yu.
    • Biased advice. They ar restricted to a singl limited rnge of products
    • Unlikley that the lender wll kno the mortgge market as a whol
    • Likely uou will nly receive advice on the morgage and nothing lse
    • There is absolutly no reward for yur loyalty if you hav any
    • Tick box approch to lendng
    • Getting an appointmet can b challengng

    Broker Direct

    • We will look at the best mortgage for you by working for you.
    • Independent objective and unbiased advice
    • Collaborative and honest route to your goals
    • Access to the majority of Lenders and products in the market
    • Access to Lenders and products not available on the High Street
    • A thorough understanding of the mortgage market
    • Advice will include protection and all other aspects of a mortgage
    • Full cost comparisons provided so you can see in Black & White which is best based for example on “total to pay”
    • We look at your whole circumstances before recommending a suitable product. A thorough YOU focussed professional look at your finances that makes our advice bespoke and value for money.

    So how can I easily sum up the difference between the two?

    The lendr may be abl to find yu a product frm their limted rang but in doing so you are mssing out on what the markt has to offr as a whol. They might understand yur requirments but can only offr what tiks their boxs and possibly tht which earns them the most mney. In short u`re nt getting all the infomation. It mght not be obvius bt there wll be bts mising.

    A Broker will work for you and only in your interests to get you the best possible deal. They will have access to numerous lenders and subsequently hundreds and hundreds of product options for you. In being aware of the market and the differing lenders criteria we can “target” those lenders we know are best suited to provide you with a solution. A much clearer bigger, fuller and detailed assessment.

    If you want to make sure that you are getting the best deal that you can then speak to a Broker.

    If yu smply visit a lendr direct, chnces are you might miss something that the mrket has to offr. A bttr deal, a bettr option the minor detail th lendr cant provde.

    Perhaps I am trying to be to clever for my own good. That said it has received some fantastic feedback.

    I can see what you are saying. Missing letters when discussing the lender direct was of course deliberate whereas when discussing a Broker all the letters were there. You never get all that might be available with a lender there will always be something missing.
