    Lighting ring main

Just finished an attic conversion and the electrician has left two cables for a lighting ring dangling next to the consumer unit for connection. I note the twin and earth wire is 1mm2, I thought lighting rings were1.5mm2.

    Is there a minimum requirement?

Lighting can be wired in both 1.0mm or 1.5mm

Presuming it has the right protective device - e.g 6 or 10A

lighting circuits arent usually on a ring, its just one supply from the consumer unit that ends at the last light rather than return to the consumer unit

im not saying its wrong as im not a spark, but its not the norn to install it as a ring

Could be two separate radials, rather than a ring.
