    Mortgage Rejected - Cladding issues

    Hi,
Firstly apologies if I have posted this in the wrong forum, I wasn’t sure where best to place it (Admin feel free to bump me to another topic page!)

I wondered whether anyone can help? I have recently had a valuation in my flat at £0 due to the valuer wanting answers regarding the cladding in the building. They want confirmation that it isn’t combustible cladding which I find a bit odd given 5 properties have sold in the building in the last year.

The MA’s of our building are very difficult to deal with and generally reluctant to provide any information. At the very minimum is there anything they should be able to provide me to confirm the cladding is not combustible or any ideas on how I can get the valuer confirmation of this?

    Thanks in advance

If all else fails, I suppose you could use a less fussy mortgage provider/ surveyor combo but obviously that depends on whether you are buying, selling or re-mortgaging.

Thanks Dominic, it’s just a remortgage of a BTL with the same borrower. The reason it was revalued is because their original valuation was way below the value to similar properties in the building. Re a less fussy surveyor etc....the problem is I supposed I wouldn’t know if they were going to question this until they’ve surveyed it. Do you know if they managing agents are obliged to confirm this information or if they have a duty to ensure it is safe?
