    Newbie - Resources

    Hello there,

I found out about Property Tribes on Property Hub and I am using each episode as individual mini lessons.

As well as listening to this podcast, I am also attending the Rich Dad, Poor Dad three-day seminar, which I have some reservations about, as I do not appreciate the hard sell, but I am sure there is much to gain regardless.

What other resources would you recommend to a newbie that is easy to understand and minus all the jargon?

    Many thanks

    Aisha

    Hi Aisha,

This thread is the place to start for all newbies:

Top 10 Property Tribes resources for novice landlords and BTL investors

I also recommend that you join a landlord association.  Property Tribes is partnered with the Residential Landlords Association and we offer a 25% discount.

Whilst I am a big advocate of education, I do get concerned when people get involved in the "wealth creation" industry by going on courses such as you mention.  It will take you down a different route imho.  You will only be told all the up-sides and non of the pitfalls, and you will be upsold to increasingly expensive educational products, some costing more than a deposit on a property!

Before spending money on such courses, if you are not a cash buyer, you should speak to a reputable mortgage broker to find out if you qualify for BTL finance.  You will also typically need a 35% deposit and acquisition costs such as stamp duty and legals.  The PT Brokers team on 0333 363 6507 would be happy to advise you.

I hope that helps for starters?
