    Nonsense Phrases

What phrases do you think are nonsense?

Here are mine for starters -

    Economic Violence

    Mortgage Prisoners

I don't like the media phrase:

Ticking Time Bomb  (All this means essentially, is that there's an end date.  Well der, everything and everyone could be said to be a ticking time bomb!  It's just purely for theatrical effect).

One that my husband thinks is nonsense is:

Property Management Software  (Dave says: it neither fixes boilers nor mends loos.... And it doesn't evict tenants either.  Useless!)

But then, a lot of things make no sense to me:

Repayment Mortgage (don't they all need to be repaid?!)

Interest Only Mortgage (oh cheers, so can I sue if you ask for the capital sum?!)

    Over Leveraged (in who's judgement?!)

    Job security (ha!)

    Social security (ha ha!!)

Risk Taker (/ has a beating heart?!)

Filthy rich  (I bathe every day!)

    Angela :-)

Some good ones amongst them Angela - here are another couple

Almost unique / nearly unique - it is either unique or it’s not

To tell you the truth - so everything you have told me so far is a lie?

Politicians like to say when under the cosh from the press about a topical issue

`we are going to re double our efforts `

So you doubled them once before and that didn`t work so now you are doubling them again

So I say ...... why the hell  were you only working at 25% capacity in the first place

Some people exaggerate and say .

`yes i`m going to give this task 110%``

I say 100% effort is fine by me

Or are you thinking of cloning an extra hand or something

    Accidental Landlord

If you have the choice whether you rent out a property or not you are CHOOSING to do so, no-one has a gun at your head!

And while you're at it, swap to a BTL mortgage if you have a resi mortgage on it and be legitimate.

Someone not so long ago on here was saying they were an A LL even though they had several BTL's!

Most A LL are simply criminal  fraudsters.

But no lender wants to call in fraudster LL residential loans as they would receive less than mortgage value if the properties are sold at auction.

National LL licensing would stop A LL.

You won't be given a licence unless CTL has been given.

That should stop them..Of course for many such A LL they could simply evict the tenants or convert them into lodgers.

For those tenants not prepared to be lodgers  then they will have to be evicted.

But none of this will happen.

Lenders simply have no interest in enforcing residential mortgage conditions.

As long as they are paid then they prefer  not to know about the fraud that a residential mortgaged homeowner gets up to.

I'm seeing more and more of this on PT.

3 unencumbered , 15 years plus and still accidental??

    I'm poor on purpose.

Wisdom - an integration of knowledge, experience, and deep understanding that incorporates tolerance for the uncertainties of life as well as its ups and downs.

For some reason I can't stand it when people say "So and so reached out to me". It makes me imagine something like a scene from a movie with a persons arm stretched out yelling "Save me!", not someone sending a bloody email.

Also when I hear a politician say "We are committed to blah blah blah.......", it just a clever phrase and means nothing at all.

    I am a human bean.

'reached out to me' is another horrible Americanism!

I must admit I pretty much hate all of their Americanisms such as 'ball park figure' (I'm looking at you Vanessa as an offender here!), blue sky thinking, etc. etc.

All just BS, and I'm not talking about PB's stomping ground either ;->
