Over 200K homeless children thanks to GO?

I hope Mr Osborne and other supporters of kicking landlords have a good look at the results :

More than 210,000 children are estimated to be homeless, with some being temporarily housed in converted shipping containers, a report says.

The Children's Commissioner for England says that as well as the 124,000 children officially homeless, a further 90,000 are estimated to be "sofa-surfing".

Unfortunately I think the government will still blame landlords and use. even more legislation to encourage landlords  to sell up.

Just saw an item on BBC breakfast on this and to be fair the ones they showed actually looked pretty well converted.

Not even remotely interested! How is possible to be homeless in UK??? seriously- wake up people.. You have to be very special..

Too many scammers, jobless people not willing to work nor improve their lives.. When we viewing properties and seeing some tenants - I actually can’t believe all this happening.. UK has too many rights for scammers, pretenders, manipulators..

I am brave and honest by saying this- I would never consider taking tenant which doesn’t care about his life, his future- there is no charities -my charity starts and ends in my family. People who making children in homeless conditions- deserve to be jailed or evicted from this country..

How can you dare release somebody to life without taking extra care about that life conditions???

Every healthy person by age 30 can have its own property- I am not talking here about London- UK is massive..

There is plenty cheap houses - check on rightmove places like Accrington, Nelson, Blackburn, Bradford, Blackpool.. You don’t need to live in containers or in a tent.. You don’t need to shout loud- there is now jobs.. There is plenty of jobs! Trust me! People hate hard work, people hate routine!

Thing is - people don’t like to work, don’t like to plan.. Government giving too much sorry for these people and they use that as excuse and dictating their rules to another part of society which is working hard, which is running this country by paying taxies..

In a simplistic world your view point would hold water. Imagine having a child hooked on drugs. Is it your fault their on drugs? They come home and you help them every time but they fall off the wagon. The spiral continues, is this your fault as the family? These things happen, homelessness is so complex, it not about jobs it's about people who've been abused, who've not had chances in life, who not had caring parents like you (or have).

The government is failing the homeless or often trying to pass the problem to others.

I wish you all the best and your family but problems are often more complex than a simple solution.

Once again- government doesn’t do anything to disallow this.. Is impossible to be a homeless in nowadays- please don’t talk to me about vulnerable people and etc. there is no such a thing- In my life I seen it all.. I know what means vulnerable..

All I am saying- government should be punishing and not tolerating these people- who care only about cash, their benefits and etc. Enough nice talks- history shows- it never helps.. There is vulnerable system and I call it Democracy.. And democracy in UK is different when comparing with other EU countries.. There is nothing wrong with Democracy itself- problem is that UK is multicultural country and some parts of this multicultural society abusing UK defined democracy very hard.. and thing is - you cannot stop this Smile  unless people will stop tolerating this behaviour..

Thing is all these nice talkers who telling us - we need to support homeless and vulnerable people- never spent time with squatters, scammers, manipulators and etc. they have no clue what these actually thinking and what is their exact strategy how to abuse system..

Children is different thing, but you need to understand that for some “vulnerable” people child is just a tool to achieve something or exploit democracy..

This is why I am saying- people shouldn’t be making babies while they living in tents on the streets and etc. because that means only one thing- you abusing your child’s life!!! And now as a joke- why you would be living in UK as homeless person..

What is so attractive here? There is no warm weather nor bananas.. They staying here because of broken system and expectations.. If I would be true homeless - I just would move to spain, portugal, albania or something- there is plenty of room, warm weather, sea - where I can catch fish, plenty of unoccupied land and etc. Smile

In 2013 law changed allowing Council to bounce even the "accepted homeless" cases in to PRS - where of course they instantly face the capped LHA issue as well as needing a minimum 2 months rent in cash on moving in day to cover deposit plus initial month's rent.

Even if working they may be on ZHC and no g'teed income so will fail landlord credit checks as you will know...

If not working they also do not allow LL to get RGI.

Zem, you're really coming across as a troll at best.

All I can say is shame on you. My cat has more empathy for the mouse it caught yesterday than you have for homeless people.

Zem, we all have a collective responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

Unless of course, we are just selfish uncaring 'people' (insert expletive of your choice)..

You, like me, have probably worked very hard to make your family financially secure.

Not everybody is able to do that for various reasons. When you stop caring about the less fortunate, you have lost the plot I'm afraid.
