    Problem with buying off plan

    Hi there,

I bought my first property a couple of months ago. I bought it off plan and we signed a Reservation Check List agreeing on the plans for the house. Last week I went to see the property for the first time and realised that the windows in two of the bedrooms are significantly smaller than what we agreed on the plans.

Is there anything I can do? Should I complain directly to the developer? The developers didn't give me a copy of the plans, but I took a picture of them. Is not a bit weird that a developer doesn't give the plans of the property?

The Reservation Checklist that I signed says: "Please note that the above plans include dimensions which are indicative only and may change as build progresses (within industry tolerances)".

    Many thanks!

    Hi Iban and welcome,

Your conveyancing solicitor should take this up directly with the developer.
