I've watched the two Rob's of Progressive on YouTube and, although they seem to walk-the-walk in terms of their own property investment, their Education arm is typical of the course selling industry.
The idea is to upsell more and more courses.
two Robs? Are you referring to PropertyHUB?
Hmm looks like ThePropertyHub has fallen victim to the Progressive Property SEO wizard...
That web page has been deleted. Would be interesting to see what they said.
Apologies, I meant Mark and Rob. Yes, I think I got the two Robs from Property Hub.
I'm getting old and confused
I agree with Vanessa. I have actually attended their free three day MSOPI course. They definitely worked their sales magic on me.A three day sales tactic masterclass on every strategy under the sun with (make no mistake) professional sales staff. No money down was going to make me rich, I could almost taste it! I was so pumped after the first day. They made it sounds so easy. I would be stupid not to go back for more. These guys where going lead me to my fortune. Words like I would make my money back on the first deal and I will be making £3K on one deal and that's only if I choose to sell one deal a month! What did I have to lose right? This was all playground stuff. After all, the course provider was making £30K a month and going on golfing holidays 10 times a year. He even showed us his bank balance, this must be true!?
I decided to sign up to the deal packaging course. A bargain for a mere discounted £1.5k! In return I was given a folder and a USB stick and (looking back now) irrelevant course filling information. The key information consumed over the course of 1 full day could have literally been explained in less that 30 mins. After the course I couldn't wait to get started. I immediately started trying to find deals in my "gold mine" area recommended by the course provider. I tried leafleting, direct to vendor, agent approach, business cards, set up my limited company, you name it.
After spending my Saturdays viewing properties (which I actually enjoyed) I found a 12% BMV deal. I actually managed to get the agent to mark it on right move as 'sold subject to contract' Which is not easy to do. I packaged the deal up and sent it on to my 50/50 JV partners (a third party nothing to do with Progressive) which was offered as part of the course cost.
They entertained it for a week or so but the landlord told the agent that he couldn't hold out any longer. All my hours of viewing and money spent of marketing could not be sustained any longer. What do I take away from all of this...
