Property Insight, Aran Curry - any info?

Sorry, but I do not understand your post and the formatting is somewhat odd.  Are these your actual words from experience of working with Aran Curry or are they cut and paste from somewhere else?

Wow!  You're lucky. My story is exactly the opposite.  Why would it be so good for one person and just so terrible for another?  Honestly......where to start?

I have had more problems than I care to explain in this post! The 3 day event was fantastic and the Insight Group have actually used my testimonial in the marketing profile. Beyond that 3 day event, I have had nothing but problems.

I went ahead and purchased 2 properties with them and the entire process was a nightmare. Furthermore, I offered for them to look after I property I already owned in Nottingham and that too has been a nightmare - so much so, that I had to take it back from them. The level of incompetence within the organisation is unbelievable.

Aran Curry talks about how important it is to have a 'World Class Team' around you and yet his team do nothing but let him down. The money that was supposed to be paid back to my Ltd Company for the rent of the two properties that they purchased on my behalf and the refund from the refurb costs was all deposited into the account for my property in Nottingham - a property that I own with a partner and is in a completely different name - and they justified it by saying that the bank details for the property in Nottingham were the only details they had. Fortunately I had all the evidence I needed to prove to them that I had indeed filled out THEIR form stating the bank details very clearly for my Ltd company and the fault was theirs.

That happened in the middle of last year - however, to this day, they have still not been able to reconcile the accounts and give me a detailed account of how the money was to be apportioned - oh, forgot to mention, they lumped it in with an incorrect rental payment that they'd taken from my tenant in Nottingham so I was unable to discern from the two large payments they made into the account, what money was for which property.

NOW....they have had the audacity to NOT pay my Limited company the rent they have collected from one of the properties, stating that because THEY made a mistake with collecting the rent at the Nottingham property, they need to clear the deficit. I explained that they cannot simply take money from my Ltd company account, as it is a separate legal entity, and that they need to send me a 'PROPER' account for the outstanding funds and, at that point, I will deal with the separate issue. They don't seem to understand that they cannot simply take money from one person to pay another!

Last correspondence (from the 5th person I have dealt with within the rental insight group - they keep leaving!) stated to give them 48 hours to sort things out and that the money would be paid into my Ltd Company's account! Guess what? Not only is the money STILL not in my account but the email was dated 14th January and nothing has changed! By my calculations 48 hours should have been 16th January - we're a far cry off that now! They can't count either.

Extremely bad business ethics - don't use Property Insight! I wish I never had - I am now stuck with two properties that are being very badly managed and I wish I'd never bought them through Property Insight!

Sorry to hear your story, although I'm not surprised by your experience his 'World Class Team' seem to be continually turning over, currently he's on a big recruitment drive for his 'Growing'  team from 50 to 80 which keeps popping up on a Facebook Sponsored Ad.

I've never understood the business model of his property management company as he list properties allover the country, yet is based in Scarborough, knowing what it takes to manage property to do this remotely across the country in my eyes can't be possible with the service levels you would expect as a Landlord.

It appears Rental Insight his property management company is now trading as The Property Coach showing 58 properties throughout the UK.

Although a recent Google Review doesn't instill much confidence from a tenants point of view either.....

If the option for 0 stars was available, I would've selected this!!!
Absolutely appalling, wish I had seen the reviews before renting with this agency. Our property is so bad we have had to get Environmental health involved. Do not rent with this company their properties and customer service are disgraceful. They care about their investors and landlords paying them money, but don't care about the tenants who live in the properties. Avoid at all costs

Have posted a link to your experience on Property Insight Group - Highly Recommended thread to https://www.propertytribes.com/property-i...#pid372256

As with many of these Property 'Guru' Multi Millionaires when you actually do Due Diligence on his companies rather than seeing millions in assets of the 110 properties he allegedly owns and over 100 joint venture properties, you actually see a totally different picture, one company showing £225k in assets (property) and a number of other businesses with very little in assets or in a negative position.

We have adequate funds for a decent property portfolio - looking for a lively but reliable team to help us build the portfolio to provide a passive income to supplement current dismal pension.

    JSS,

Let's have a discussion. Likely I can provide some guidance as to what will make sense and how best to consider the various options out there. We can chat by email, phone or what ever works for you.

I host the London Real Estate Meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month since 2005. If you have never been before, email me for the 'new visitor' link.

    PropertyFortress.com/Events

Also happy to chat on the phone. Pay It Forward; my way of giving back through sharing. Click on the link: PropertyFortress.com/Ask-John to book a time. I will call you at the time you selected. Nothing to buy. Just be prepared with your questions so we can use the 20 minutes wisely.

I am sure that you will find plenty of people willing to help you. Smile

Whatever you decide, please do intense due diligence and do not hand any large sums over upfront.

Also, having bought my first investment property at age 23 and being a full time investor since 2004, I do not believe there is anything "passive" about investing at all!

Please remember that, when you are getting involved in property to generate income through renting out, you are a Landlord and with that comes tremendous responsibility which no one can divest you of ... not a fully managed lettings service or property management company. You carry the can.

I say this to guide you and to help you make some wise choices ... not to "rain on your parade" so I hope you can take my input in that spirit.

similar to propertinsight in that you invest x amount of money and they build you a portfolio

they look professional, seen them at a few property shows and Nick Carlile has written the book (7 biggest mistakes of property investing and how to avid them...) so it seems he "walks the talk"

i would also like to hear from anyone who has invested with this company on their experience

I have read other threads here that seem to indicate that Platinum Portfolio (Southend) is not to be recommended...

There are three companies with Platinum in the name. They are un-related although Nick Carlilse is a former business partner of Steve Bolton.

    1. Platinum Property Partners (Steve Bolton)

    2. Platinum Portfolio Builder (Nick Carlisle)

    3. Platinum Portfolios Southend (Mike Wild)
