  • Tax

    Salary or Dividend ??

I have been I think put straight on my calacultions of Dividend Tax so I would like to ask for a calculation for comparison

I am a 40% tax Payer  and I use all my personal allowances from my other income ie Pension and personal BTL

now my question if I want to draw £25000 from my company what tax will I pay

    on Dividend Income

or Salary Income from the company

I know I can have the first £2000 Tax free but just not to complicate the calcs leave that factor to one side

in the calculation can you please add the Corporation Tax to the final result of the dividend ie

    Corp Tax Plus Dividend Tax

On the salary can you also show the Final result including Tax Plus NI for employee plus Employers NI

I think I have this right but clarification would be very helpful

    Thanks DL

I am sure I do understand the Taxation but I just want to be assured I am right

Just to add to the mix, I think interest on a director's loan is a very good option. No income tax, corporation tax or NI for an income up to £17.5k. Dividends can still be taken in addition to this, subject to the required taxes.
