  • HMO & Multi-Lets

    Splitting into separate units

    Our letting agent has suggested splitting one of our properties into separate units. I note there are minimum sizes for rooms which is not a problem. The house, 3 floors is an HMO student house and has fire doors, full fire regs, alarms etc. hard to find out specific regs and there seems to be variations with each local authority. Any easily accessible info available?

    What do you mean by units. Self contained flats/ studios then of course you need planning permission.
