    I have remortgaged a property to buy another one. Can I offset the survey, mortgage broker and valuation fees for tax purposes?

    No because that is the costs you incurred to buy the property so offset against future cgt when you sell it.

    If you remortgaged a property not to buy another but simply because it came to the end of its term, that would be deductible as a buasiness expense

    You can claim any finance arrangement fees so yes it can be claimed

    But if you go over the limits in regard to sec 24 its not allowed
